About Jenna

Thank you for taking the time to read my bio page. I am a native Californian, happily married and live conveniently close to The Santa Cruz Arts Center in the west side neighborhood of Santa Cruz. In my free time I enjoy traveling, entertaining, Pilates, tandem bicycling with my husband Gavin, hiking, dining in our many local restaurants, traveling and reading in the company of our ginger cat Toby.

In 2002 i decided to reinvent myself and follow a life-long dream of cutting and styling hair; I became a licensed cosmetologist in 2003. Since then I have honed my technical skills in natural hair coloring using Oway, modern grey/white hair coverage and/or blending, highlighting, balayage/hand painting and precision/organic/creative hair cutting. I have combined this experience with a mathematical cutting technique which attends to the relationship between the overall physical dimensions of your face shape, the haircut you desire as well as growth patterns and the lasting value of a truly technical cut and/or color. I am very proud to say that I am also a certified Dèva Curl Stylist and am very confident with lovingly cutting and styling slightly wavy to curly textured hair.  My goal is to enable you to recreate your hairstyle at home by offering the educational support, styling products, tools, and a realistic style for your hair type, face shape and lifestyle. I am passionate about maintaining the highest technical standards and superlative customer care.

I follow a holistic approach to cutting, which is responsive to the whole body and lifestyle of my clients. I believe that I am best at my craft when I truly listen to my clients and ask discovery questions about their routines, goals, aspirations, and concerns.  I attend as many local, statewide and national classes as I am able to; I am passionate about cutting hair and continuing education!
